Thank goodness the freakin’ heat finally went away. Well, it did in Indiana, at least. I think you guys in Texas might still be getting it. And it’ll get back up to the 80’s next week, but those 90’s are gone for now. Woot. As I said, I don’t take the heat well.

So what’s everyone doing for the 4th? Consuming alcoholic beverages and watching fireworks? I’ll wager some of you are going to set some off while drinking. Good luck. Try not to lose an eye or anything else.

A number of years ago, we stopped going to the fireworks back home. My family did, at least. I remember Dad saying “I’ve seen them before.” And that really got me thinking, “You know, I have too.” I’ll see them this year, but they’re not as awe-inspiring as they used to be.
